Our Pastor

Pastor Mike Ray was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He accepted Christ as his Saviour in February of 1970, and not long after, he sensed God's call to preach the Gospel. He has been doing so faithfully ever since.

After earning ministry degrees and serving in various capacities — youth ministry, church planting, preaching, and writing — Pastor Ray has given his life to one thing: seeing people come to know Jesus Christ personally and grow as disciples in a local New Testament church.

HopeWell Baptist Church of New Orleans is a vision close to his heart. With a deep love for Louisiana and a burden for the souls of this city, he is committed to seeing a genuine, Bible-preaching church take root and flourish in the New Orleans area.

Pastor Ray is also a frequent speaker at conferences, camps, and churches, and he is supported in this new work by a team of experienced, godly local pastors who share the same vision for reaching New Orleans with the Gospel.
